At A Happy Daycare we instill an ethusiasm to learn, to read, and to appreciate the arts. We emphasize phonics, reading, and writing skills. We make it such a fun learning environment that the children don't actually know they are gaining knowledge while they play.

- Science: We promote a child's natural curiosity to explore their environment through hands on learning. They are encouraged to explore nature, ask questions and problem solve. Current Science projects include the exploration of our Solar System and planets, being a weatherman and giving a weather report, and planting giant sunflower seeds.
- Math: By incorporatating Math and counting skills into everday activites our children gain a working knowledge of math and numbers in action. Children learn to recognize shapes in their everyday surroundings and how to draw them.
- Language Arts/Vocabulary: They learn to recognize all upper and lowercase letters and corresponding phonics sounds. Once they exhibit letter knowledge and phonemic awareness it is easy for them to learn to read. Story Time and Rhyme Time help the children to acquire new vocabulary skills and word recognition.
- Writing: The children practice fine motor skills that are a precursor to writing through a variety of activities including, painting, drawing, using safety scissors, stringing beads. They practice writing letters using different mediums: for example chalk and chalkboard, paper and pencil, magna doodles, and letter worksheets.
- Social Skills: They build lasting friendships while learning to share and cooperate with others. The children care about and respect each other. They use good manners and become self-sufficient in eating, getting dressed, and toileting habits.
- Music and Dancing: We sing, dance, and play music together to have fun and to develop rhythm.
- Art: We promote a love and appreciation of art and the children look forward to Art Time where they can express themselves through paint and coloring. Each year we do a series on Famous Artists
